AUDIENCE FAN FAVOURITE PRIZE

This year the audience will get to vote for their favourite group for each AUSACA Championship Final.

The groups with the highest number of Audience Fan Favourite Votes at each of the AUSACA Championship Finals (School Division Final, Open Division Ensemble Final, and Open Division Band Final) will each win:

  • A One (1) hour Performance Coaching Session with Fusion Music Academy’s Lead Producer Richard Steighner and Choreographer Maria Velletri

Fusion Music Academy is based in Melbourne so if any non-Melbourne groups win this prize then the one hour performance coaching session will be conducted via Skype. Alternatively, if your group is not in Melbourne but would prefer to work with Richard and Maria in person then any flight and accommodation costs are at the expense of your group.

Please note the judges scores will be the only factor that determines which groups are crowned the Australian A Cappella Champion.
The audience fan favourite prize is completely separate from the judges scores.

About Maria Velletri
Maria Velletri is a Melbourne-based dancer & performer who loves to create expressive work that connects to people all over the world.

She trained at the the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and Edith Cowan University where she received her Bachelor of Contemporary Arts with a Double Major in Contemporary Performance and Theatre Studies, as well as completing her Certificate II in Music Theatre at WAAPA in 2012. Maria then went on to complete her Associate Diploma in Classical Ballet Teaching from the Australian Institute of Classical Dance in 2014. She has also trained privately in Perth for over 20 years, and has attended intermediate, advanced, and professional level classes at many different dance studios around the world. Her dance experience expands into styles including ballet, jazz, broadway, contemporary, lyrical, and hip hop!

Working on various projects as a choreographer and performer, Maria has created pieces both collaboratively and individually. Her work has been performed at choreographic festivals, dance concerts, school incursions, and workshops across Australia. She has performed at dance and music concerts, special events, workshops, and in film productions in projects all the way from children’s entertainment shows to full production, award-winning original musicals. Her biggest joy comes from creating fun and exciting ways to get everyone feeling confident with their movement! From street, to stage, to film, Maria’s always looking to push the form of creative expression across all performance mediums.

Setting her sights high is the best motivation for this hard working performer, and Maria is always ambitiously looking forward to the next project to sink her teeth into. Travel is a big part of Maria’s life, and dancing is her favourite international vocation as it has no language barrier! If you can hear the music, feel the rhythm, and see the movement, you can dance!
