Miriam Crellin will be judging the following AUSACA events in 2017:

Miriam Crellin is a versatile and creative Melbourne vocalist, with influences ranging from early jazz greats to contemporary singer songwriters, as well as being inspired by an array of local artists. Through her interest in contemporary vocal music she was a founding member vocal ensemble Invenio, led by vocalist and composer Gian Slater. Miriam has also performed as part of the award-winning a cappella group Coco’s Lunch and is the newest member of 1930’s swing outfit The Furbelows. She appears at venues around Melbourne including The Paris Cat, Bennetts Lane Jazz Club, and The Jazzlab. In 2010 she was a finalist and place-winner at the Voicingers International Jazz Vocal Competition held in Zóry, Poland. As well as indulging her love of jazz, Miriam performs her own original music, which she writes for voice and varying instrumentation.

Miriam is a passionate vocal educator, with a particular focus on jazz, and contemporary a cappella. She directs several vocal ensembles of young singers at Princes Hill Secondary College, including Generations in Jazz Vocal Ensemble Awards 2012 winners The Tangents, and 2016 winners Meraki.
