About Skety

Multi-award winning a cappella group SKETY is a six-piece collective of professional Czech jazz singers and musicians who are fully engaged in the contemporary scene. In July 2014, SKETY were awarded the prestigeous Ward Swingle Award in category Jazz at Vokal.Total in Graz. While each one is a front-man for their own projects, their love of singing a cappella brought them together. Despite their relatively short existence, SKETY have already established their name on the scene. Having recorded and performed with prominent artists, they have also made live performances on TV. Inspired both by contemporary world and Czech composers, they aim to bring the music they love to life.

Their sound is reminiscent of the legendary Singers Unlimited and Manhattan Transfer, but they often move where many would not expect, to create their own distinctive sound and style.  SKETY’s rich interpretations, tight harmonies and playful groove will have their audience under no illusion that this is a once in a lifetime experience.

2018 will coincide with the 100th Anniversary of Czechoslovakian independence, and SKETY look forward to bringing their fresh and exuberant music to Australia.

To me they are one of the future a cappella groups in the world.”  Anders Jalkéus / The Real Group
